JULY 2026 BUILT TO GROW

I Asked for Advice.

He Told Me to Sell

My Business.

The best business advice I ever received wasn't about selling a business. It was about building one worth buying.

A Note from Leigh

Several years ago, I was having lunch with a trusted colleague when he gave me the best business advice I've ever received.

"You should be preparing your business to sell."

I remember thinking, Sell? That wasn't even on my radar. I was focused on growing the business, not leaving it.

"But as we continued talking, I realized he wasn't really talking about selling.

He was talking about building."

He challenged me to create a business that was so well-run, so intentional, and so valuable that someone else would want to buy it—even if I never planned to.

That conversation completely changed the way I think about growth.

Growth isn't about growing as fast as you can.

It's about growing with intention.

It's one of the reasons we've been so intentional about the way we've built Fleurish over the past 20 years. Our team doesn't believe in one-size-fits-all marketing or chasing every trend.

We believe in thoughtful strategy, meaningful partnerships, and helping businesses grow in ways that make sense for them.

And although there isn't one formula for growing a business, there is tremendous value in building one with intention.

Growth in Action

Building Alongside Businesses That Grow

One of our favorite parts of this work is watching businesses evolve.

Jennifer Boileau Mindfulness Coaching is a wonderful example of what intentional growth looks like.

As JBMC began expanding— offering new trainings and workshops to more industries— we thoughtfully anticipated and supported the business’s evolving marketing needs. Following the development of Jenn’s branding, stationery and website, we implemented periodic refreshes; created training and tradeshow materials; wrote and designed email newsletters; managed social media; prepared proposals and more.

Each step was intentional. As JBMC continued to grow the marketing strategy grew right alongside it.

Growth doesn't always mean starting over.

Sometimes it means thoughtfully building on the foundation you've already established.

The Truth About Marketing

Sales and Marketing are not the same thing.

Sales builds relationships.

Marketing builds awareness.

Understanding the difference can completely change how you invest your time and money.

Before You Go...

Ask one person outside your business to describe what you do after spending two minutes on your website.

If their answer surprises you, it may be time for a refresh.
